Lithology and Thickness
These correspond mostly to inter bedded tillites, diamictites, rhythmites and sandstones. The Tilites have a thickness of a few centimeters to more than 100m in the Vúzi River area, which gave it its name. But, about 19 km west, on the Mucangádzi River, the thickness is only a few tens of centimeters.
Lithology Pattern:
Glacial till
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Upper contact
Moatize Fm. There is a coal layer between the Vuzi and Moatize formations that is not described in either these two and in general is tentative considered as transitional. However, Bicca, et al. (2017) describes the coal layer as the top sequence of the Vuzi Formation comprises interbedded diamictites and thin coal beds, marking a gradational transition to the conformably overlain Moatize Fm.
